We held a fantastic Youth Summit in mid-August where young women gathered to write, reflect on leadership, their own leadership qualities, and those of others, and we discussed the language of leadership.
We had three days of gathering mussels for community dinners, swimming in the quarry, dancing at the Musical Rampage, and telling stories around the fire in the campsite. It was year one of what I hope to be a great week on this beautiful island.
Summer is wrapping up here on Vinalhaven, Maine, and I'm getting ready for a busy writing season in Howth. We have a lot going on.
Delighted to announce here that we have a full month of Hooks & Reels in October and have been invited to be part of the Fingal 'Home of Halloween' Festival. So watch out for details and tickets, we will present three evenings of storytelling and music for not just our community but Fingal and visitors alike, ending in the big night at The Abbey Tavern on October 30th as we celebrate Samhain.
