What a year!

Here at Howth Writing Workshops and Hooks & Reels I’m winding down the year with gratitude to you all for attending workshops and Hooks & Reels and celebrating the age-old art of storytelling.

I'm planning the writing year for workshops, creative projects, and literary and musical events for 2026.

This year we held our Friday workshops in Church Street and so many new stories were born, crafted and polished, many went on to become Hooks & Reels highlighted stories.

Many of our writers travelled to Cadiz in Spain for a yoga/writing retreat in March, and we had such a great time writing for four mornings with daily yoga for a full week of rest, restoration, the best food. Michelle is a brillant and gentle yoga teacher.

We ended our week with a mini Hooks & Reels for the community, and it was, as always, so warmly received. When we share our true stories, we connect and bond through memories, sharing, and emotion.

The Power of the Prompt Workshops.

For January, we begin a year of writing online. The Celtic Calendar sessions will book up fast so if you want to commit to writing, developing short stories, essays, memoirs, and exploring your life through writing, a really worthwhile time, please email me to book your spot. There will be only 6 people in the two-hour workshop. We will be adding in teachings from Celtic traditions and the Irish language to enrich our pieces.
