We are delighted to be hosting the Howth Samhain Festival for Fingal County Council (Home of Halloween). Through our traditional nights of story and song we will explore Samhain, the past and how the elements of seasonal change, nature, mischief and a time we remember our ancestors or loved ones past.
We will host three evenings in The Abbey Tavern, Howth.
Thursday 16th at 7pm in the upstairs Boathouse.
Stories by local and Fingal writers.
Music by the local and talented Celine Daley and the Sessioneers (Mick the Whistler, David McChesney)
Celine has written a new song for the event.
Thursday 23rd October upstairs in The Boathouse
Stories by local and Fingal writers.
Music by Siobhán Moore
Siobhán is a writer, singer, poet and songwriter. She has composed a new song for the evening. We are delighted with the creative inspiration these evenings hold.
On October 30th we will host a master storyteller, a professional who lives and breathes the story they tell, who educates and entertains us and for this evening, a storyteller that brings the spirit of a local legend back to life for discussion and delight. The storyteller will be in conversation with our MC and national broadcaster Dearbhail McDonald.
We will feature four stories from our emerging storytellers and music for the night is by local Colm Skwirbat with a lively mix of trad noir and roots and blues to make for a fantastic evening.
