Brilliant night at St James Gate. Highlights were meeting children's book editor Emma Dryden of Dryden books and author Joanna Marple. A huge Thank You for coming out in support and I'm so happy now to call you friends.
There was lots of book talk, book, books, books. Love that! Books and life stories always make for memorable nights!
Met Linda Bloom and hubby Peter of Stuffed animal art. ReAlly cool couple and very adorable artwork.
Youngest reader-to-be Miss Butler showed up at 3 weeks old.
Siobhan Hennessy owner of St James Gate with her daughter making sure we were all taken care of, which we were. Best pint of Guinness I've had in years. Turned into a really cool social evening with new friends, books sold, and fun was had by all. What more can a woman ask for?
Today a copy of Chesca and the Spirit is being donated and delivered to the NY city library. And that makes me very happy to have her there with all those other books in such a magnificent building, and available to kids that want to read her!
NYC never fails, I love the tempo and pulse and the action of it all. She's like the action scene of an adventure movie. Sometimes the car chase happens right before you, or the police arrest or the cab crash. It's all here, life, action, drama. I love coming and going, and it's off home today, back to the family, the biggest shedding dog you've ever seen and the stinking laundry.. and peace...to my desk to write.
Thanks NYC and to everyone who came to support Chesca as she finds her young legs.
